Blogger/TV Personality B. Scott Sues BET

Welp! it seems YouTube sensation, blogger, and TV personality is not too happy with BET(EBT) he has decided to sue the network.

B. Scott is a male who is known to dress in female clothes, shoes, and makeup in his YouTube videos and during many TV appearances. The problem started when B. Scott was asked to be a red carpet correspondent at the 2013 BET Awards. B. Scott reportedly sent over his clothing options to the powers that be at BET. His clothes included a flowing tunic, pants, and heels, all of which were approved by BET before the show began according to Scott.

Well, Scott showed up on the red carpet for his first segment wearing the clothes he alleges were approved by BET with his hair down and makeup on. He alleges he was abruptly pulled backstage after that segment and made to change his clothes, mute his makeup, and take off his heels.

Check out the before and after:

After changing clothes, Scott says he was still replaced by Adrienne Bailon. Scott says he was humiliated and suffered damage to his reputation, claiming BET is guilty of discrimination based on gender identity as well as sexual orientation. He is seeking 2.5 million in damages.

Now I am not sure exactly what happened behind the scenes, but BET(EBT) had to have known from watching B. Scott’s YouTube videos and his TV appearances that he dressed this way, and clearly it was not a problem if they hired him to be a red carpet correspondent. It is not like he showed up and surprised them with his attire. I will be interested to see how this pans out.
