During a promo stop, at the Ricky Smiley Show for her new daytime talk show, The Queen Latifah Show, Latifah discussed her thoughts on the state of female rap.   Queen Latifah was asked to share the names of females rappers she was most impressed with over the last 15 yrs.  Her response may shock many, but she stated that Lil Kim, Missy Elliott, and Foxy Brown have yet to be topped.

I still think some of the best ones that have done it have yet to be topped. I still don’t think anybody has topped the whole era of Foxy, Kim, Missy, Eve, me on the tail end kinda things,” the soon-to-be television host explained. “I’m still looking forward to it not just being a one-at-a-time female rapper thing. I mean, I think Nicki Minaj is great, but I think we definitely need to blow up some of the other females that are out there

I can agree with Queen on this one, while Nicki is out here doing great things, no one has done it like Foxy and Kim. Queen’s talk show is set to air on September 16. The show is executive produced by Will Smith and Jada Pinkett-Smith. I am interested to see what Latifah has in store, there has been a void in daytime TV since Mama O AKA Oprah left.

Let’s see if Queen Latifah can fill that void!
