New Music: Consumerism-Lauryn Hill

So Lauryn Hill was released from jail earlier this week, after serving a three month sentence for tax evasion, and that release wouldn’t be complete without the release of new music.  Lauryn has dropped a new song called, Consumerism. Upon first listen I really could not get into it. The track that she is rapping over is schizophrenic and assaulted my ears. While I can understand the message that Lauryn is trying to convey I AM NOT HERE for this song or that other song she put out before going to jail. Can someone find the old Lauryn, because I can’t with this song!

Check It Out:

sorry wait wait whut….but Lauren Hill is done…the Lauryn Hill circa 1998-99 that hip hop fans pine over is no more . I’m sorry to be the one to have to break this news…fans need to give it up and accept it. This latest track ‘consumerism’ is part of her 5 song deal she signed with Sony (I believe?)… Miseducation was her debut and apex….So sad
