Kinfolks! Cardi B is back with the video for ‘Be Careful’ from her highly successful debut album ‘Invasion of Privacy” this after deactivating her Instagram account after getting into a spat with rapper Azealia Banks.
I haven’t made it secret that ‘Be Careful’ isn’t my favorite song from Cardi’s debut album, but the video makes the song a little more appealing. Shot in the dessert, the Jora Frantz-directed clip serves as a warning about what happens when you mess with Cardi. In the opening scene, the Bronx rapper is seen dragging a cross through the desert before a blonde Cardi appears on her wedding day in a small church. The all white affair quickly turn black as we see Cardi, dressed in all black like the omen, pull up to the same church for her man’s funeral. She then returns to the car and rides off into the sunset.
The treatment for the video is reminiscent of Quentin Tarantino’s Kill Bill movie. I really liked Cardi’s fashions for the shoot, they hid her pregnancy very well in each shot. I am looking forward to seeing what her team comes up with for the other videos from the album.
Whut, say you?
