New Music: New Orleans by PJ Morton
PJ Morton (born as Paul Morton Jr.) is an American R&B singer, musician and producer who is currently the stand-in keyboardist in pop rock band Maroon 5. On March 27, 2012, PJ released his first solo recording, the free EP “Following My First Mind”, on Lil Wayne’s Young Money label. Adam Levine was featured on the lead single, “Heavy”; other musicians on the EP include Lil Wayne, Jazmine Sullivan and Chantae Cann. On May 14, 2013, PJ Morton released his first major-label debut album, New Orleans.
PJ Morton puts me in the mindset of new a millennium Stevie Wonder(No one can match Stevie though) Morton’s first major-label debut album New Orleans does not disappoint with its 13 tracks. PJ takes us on a musical journey, and his New Orleans roots can be heard in his voice and instrumentation.
Favorite Tracks are: “Only One”,”Heavy(Featuring Adam Levine)”, “Work It Out”, “Trade It All”, “Motions”, and “Love You More(Featuring Tweet)
New Orleans is a solid R&B album and major-label debut. It is definitely worth a listen. PJ Morton is an artist to watch.
