Foxy Brown Is Awarded The Key To Brooklyn

My favorite female MC, none other than Inga “Foxy Brown” Marchand received the key to her city(Brooklyn). She was honored third annual Leader of Tommorow Brooklyn Honors event.

The Ill Na Na was humbled by this honor posting the following picture below:

Diggy Simmons and Joey Bada$$ were also on hand for the event. Now let’s hope this means new music from Marchand. She was recently pictured with  her former publicist Marvet Britto during Fashion Week NY, check out the caption

Foxy Brown Appreciation Day: Tables Will Turn

Kinfolk I been gone for minute, but I’m back with a selection for Foxy Brown Appreciation Day. The song, Tables Will Turn, comes from Foxy’s Broken Silence album and it is not that well known.

Foxy actually financed the video with her own money because Def Jam didn’t want to release the video, but Foxy felt very passionate about the Trini/Hip Hop fusion. I love this song, video, and my Foxy! Happy Foxy Brown Appreciation Day!

Foxy Brown Appreication Day-Rap City Freestyle-Foxy Brown

Kinfolk y’all know what today is! It’s Foxy Brown Appreciation Day ,and what better way to enjoy your Friday than to enjoy it with Inga Marchand. I can’t think of any other way! Now you already know Foxy is a beast on the mic, and her freestyles on Pump Master Flex, DJ Clue, DJ Kay Slay’s shows are classic! Do your Googles!

BET used to have quality programming and Rap City in the Basement with Big Tigger was one of those shows. Your favorite rappers would come through and get in the booth and spit a hot sixteen! Well Foxy Brown blessed the booth with a freestyle that I’ll never forget and further solidified my undying love for her! Check it out below:

So many quotables! It ain’t too many bishes out here that did or do it like Foxy Brown and you will respect her!

Foxy Brown Appreciation Day: Foxy’s Bells-Foxy Brown

Kinfolk it’s Foxy Brown appreciation day, where I honor my favorite female MC Inga Marchand AKA Foxy Brown. The song this week is Foxy’s Bells from her debut album Ill Na Na. The song is actually a remake of Def Jam pioneer LL Cool J’s song Rock The Bells.

Foxy hold her own on this remake and this another one of the many reasons that I love Fox. If haven’t heard the song go ahead and take a listen below and appreciate the greatness that is Foxy Brown!

Foxy Brown Appreciation Day: That Dude, That Chick-Foxy Brown & Mos Def

Kinfolk y’all know what today is! It’s Foxy Brown Appreciation Day, and it’s a day where I pay homage to my favorite female MC. Today’s selection is a lesser known song titled That Dude, The Chick and it features fellow Brooklynite Mos Def.

Mos and Fox go toe-to-toe on this short but impactful track. The special thing about Foxy is she was always able to hold her own on tracks with heavy hitters, and you never felt like she got bodied. She can actually spite better than some dudes out here!

Foxy Brown Appreciation Day: Holy Matrimony(Letter To The Firm)-Foxy Brown

It’s no secret that Foxy Brown is my favorite female MC and I feel like she doesn’t get the credit that she deserves, therefore I created Foxy Brown Appreciation Day, where I will feature favorite my Foxy Brown songs, freestyles, and interviews.

This week’s song is Holy Matrimony(Letter To The Firm) from her debut album Ill Na Na released on November 19, 1996. This song displayed the greatness that is Foxy Brown, at such a young age she was spitting bars that you wouldn’t expect from a girl her age!

Foxy Brown will forever be my favorite female MC!

Foxy Brown Appreciation Day: Get Me Home-Foxy Brown Featuring Blackstreet

It’s Friday!!

I’ve decided to change Foxy Brown Appreciation Day to Friday, it’s only fitting! Y’all know I love me some Inga DeCarlo Fung Marchand AKA Foxy Brown. She is one of the best female MC’s to ever do it! I hope she’ll give us some new music very soon, I think she still has it!

One of my favorite songs by Foxy comes from her first album Ill Na Na. The song is Get Me Home it features Blackstreet. The song samples Eugene Wild’s Gotta Get You Home. This wasn’t my first introduction to Foxy, but this song solidified the fact that would STAN for life!

Foxy Brown Appreciation Day: Ain’t No Nigga-Jay-Z Featuring Foxy Brown

I am starting something new on the blog today, and that is “Foxy Brown Appreciation Day”

The first Monday of every month I will pay homage to my favorite female MC (the best female MC in my opinon). Lil’ Kim always gets her credit where female MC’s are concerned, but Foxy Brown doesn’t get the credit that she deserves. I am here to change that!

When did I first fall in love with Foxy Brown?  Well it had to be when I heard her verse on LL Cool J’s, I Shot Ya(Remix). I remember thinking to myself who is the girl spitting like a dude? I soon discovered it was Foxy Brown real name Inga Marchand. I fell even more in love with her when I heard her spit her iconic verse on Ain’t No Nigga from Jay-Z’s debut album, Reasonable Doubt. That is probably when I became a STAN!

You know the p*ssy is all that. That’s why I get baguettes, 5 carats and all that. From Dolce Gabana to H Bendel I’m ringing bells.o So who the player, I still keep you in the illest gators

That line alone was enough for me to know that I would be lifelong STAN of Inga. Say what you want about her, but she is the best to ever do it. I love that Brooklyn girl for life. Be on the look out  for Foxy lyrics on the Facebook page and also on the Twitter page. See if you can guess the song. Foxy the game needs you, please come back!
