Mary J. Blige Announces ‘Strength of a Woman Live’ Tour

mary-j-blige-soaw-tour

Kinfolk! The Queen of Hip Hop Soul Mary J. Blige has announced the “Strength of a Woman Live’ Tour with special guest Lalah Hathaway.  I am so excited for this tour because I was left a little bit underwhelmed after going to see Mary on the King & Queen tour with Maxwell. I didn’t understand why Mary hit the stage before Maxwell. I can honestly say I felt cheated with that concert, but this announcement makes me excited especially with the addition of Lalah Hathaway. If you’re unfamiliar with Lalah, click HERE. The only thing that would make this announcement better would be if Jazmine Sullivan was added to the bill.  After listening to this new album I am excited to see what type of show Mary has in store for us. I will be purchasing my ticket as soon as they go on sale, this show is not to be missed!  Continue reading

RUN ME MY MONEY!:JANET JACKSON CANCELS TOUR

Kinfolk Janet Damita Jo Jackson announced that she postponing/canceling her “Unbreakable”tour indefinitely yesterday via Facebook video *side-eye*

“Hey, you guys. On Aug. 31, as you probably know, I launched the Unbreakable World Tour. First, I just want to thank all the fans for coming out and seeing the show. Thank you so much,” the singer, 49, said. “You guys made it so enjoyable each and every night. We’re in the second leg of the tour, and there actually has been a sudden change. I thought it was important that you would be the first to know my husband and I are planning our family, so I’m going to have to delay the tour. Please, if you can try to understand that it’s important that I do this now. I have to rest up, doctor’s orders. But I have not forgotten about you. I will continue to tour as soon as I possibly can.”

Now I gave Janet the benefit of the doubt after the first set of dates was canceled and rescheduled, but she blew it with me! While I am happy that she and her husband have decided to start a family, this isn’t something that they just decided overnight. This has been in the works for a little while now, because let’s face it Janet is not a spring chicken(49), so the time is now to gon ahead and put some buns in that oven.

Janet and her team should have never embarked on a world tour knowing this was something on Janet’s bucket list of life. It’s not likely that after Janet pops this baby out that she will be in a hurry to get back on the road, so I am not to going to hold my breath on this tour being rescheduled. Janet please take Wendy Williams’s advice and just do a Vegas residency and call it day! I only wanna hear the old stuff anyway.

In the words of Kash Doll, “Run Me My Money!” Janet Jackson, Ticketmaster, and LiveNation.

Will You Be Attending Janet Jackson’s Unbreakable World Tour?

I Will!

Janet Damita Jo Jackson announced the dates for upcoming Unbreakable World Tour earlier today! I will be in attendance for this tour, I have never seen Janet Jackson live, but I really need Janet to really come through with this show! I need storyline, choreography, scantily clad dancers, pyrotechnics, platforms, flat screens, and good graphics. I need JJ on her A game!

I honestly am not interested in the new material, but there is no way around it. Hopefully there is a good mix of the new album mixed in with old material. We shall see what the set list looks like. I really love the visuals that were released earlier today. Hopefully during this hiatus Janet rested her knees so that she give her all with the choreography, because let’s face it we don’t look to Janet for vocals. *shrug* I’m just being honest I look to Janet for a good show! She is the female originator for a good stage show. These girls could take a few notes from Janet’s previous tours, hell Beyoncé did! If she can, so can these other girls!
