Tems’ Tiny Desk Concert Is A Vibe

To say that Tems is having an amazing year is an understatement. The Nigerian R&B-afrobeats singer-songwriter blew up in early 2021 as a result of her feature on fellow Nigerian artist Wizkid’s fan-favorite song Essence. I was already a fan of Tems’ before the rest of the world discovered her. Her 2020 For Broken Ears EP was an excellent musical offering. She followed that up with If Orange Was a Place EP.

With two EP’s under her belt and undeniable buzz it’s only right that she top this stellar year off with her take on the popular NPR Tiny Desk Concert Series. The setlist consists of “Found,” “Free Mind,” “Looku Looku,” “Replay,” and the standout “Damages,” Tems establishes herself as a performer of immense talent, she manages to be captivating while sitting on a stool, which is an incredible skill.
